South Florida Race for the Cure

CardioFlex is proud to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 2018 South Florida Race for the Cure. This event takes place on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Meyer Amphitheater. The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series is the world’s largest, most successful fundraising and education event for breast cancer. The race series includes more than 140 events on four continents, with over one million participants coming together every year to take part in the fight against breast cancer.

This important annual event raises significant funds for the breast cancer movement, thanks to supporters and survivors around the world who step up and take action by fundraising for the cause.

A Global Impact

Race for the Cure® truly makes an impact, with 100 percent of the net proceeds allocated to our mission:
  • 75 percent of the net income stays in our community to help fund local programs offering breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment.
  • The remaining 25 percent goes toward Susan G. Komen® Research and Training Grants program.
In addition to raising funds for the breast cancer movement, Race for the Cure® also increases awareness, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

Racing for the Cure is More Than Pink™

Every year, in cities around the globe, our allies Race for the Cure® and prove they are More Than Pink™.
These passionate supporters and survivors are not content to simply say they support the breast cancer cause, or wear a pink ribbon. They turn their support into action. They recognize the need to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer, and they get to work.

Bad Santa Bus Loop

CardioFlex is proud to support the Bad Santa Bus Loop benefiting many local charities including the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation. This event takes place on December 15, 2017 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The Bus Loop continues to spread fun throughout South Florida! The Bus Loop is serving our local community by raising funds for the designated charities in their respective cities while giving the area’s young professionals a Bus Loop experience of a lifetime!

All proceeds directly benefit the charities. Thanks to the efforts of the volunteers, the Bus Loops continue to operate throughout South Florida. If you have not yet tried the Bus Loop, try it! You’ll get hooked!

The Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation provides financial assistance for underprivileged children fighting cancer. As advocates, the Foundation helps raise additional funds through media partnerships to ensure ill children maintain access to basic human necessities during times of crisis.   Often these children and their families fall into the Federal Poverty Level which qualifies them to receive government assistance such as Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income; however, there remains a large gap for financial need.  A child diagnosed with cancer requires a full time caregiver in order to increase his/her chances for survival.  Children can’t go back to school for a long period of time because of the intense treatment, and the number of days spent in the hospital.  Families under these circumstances often lose income because one parent usually resigns from work.  For a single parent the only source of income is often lost. As a result, the Foundation is dedicated to providing temporary financial relief to help families pay for everyday needs such as medical, utility, rent, mortgage, car, and groceries.  This direct and tangible assistance for access to basic necessities becomes vital to the survival of these children while they receive cancer treatment. CardioFlex offers specific cancer rehab treatments, visit our Services page for detailed information on how we can help you.

MDA Muscle Walk of Palm Beach

CardioFlex is proud to support the MDA Muscle Walk of Palm Beach benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This event takes place on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Palm Beach Zoo in West Palm Beach, FL. At MDA, families are our stars and heroes. Muscle Walk gives us the opportunity to unite around a cause that binds us together and celebrate all the stars in our lives — you, supporters, caregivers, friends and family — who make this journey possible.

Sign up for Muscle Walk as an individual or with a team, or create your own team. Ask others to join you and support you with a donation — they’ll be grateful for a fun, easy way to fight back in your honor that really makes a difference.

This year, we need you to join us at MDA Muscle Walk so we can continue to enhance our support and care, offer the highest-quality programs and accelerate research efforts to bring more treatments to families faster.

While no cure exists for any of the dystrophies, physical therapy can help maintain function by managing complications of disease progression, such as weakness and contractures. Each patient with MD has unique needs based on age, the type of dystrophy, and the progression of symptoms. At CardioFlex we are prepared to offer the best physical therapy customized to our patient needs. Come to a consultation at our outpatient clinic in Davie and let us help you.

The Wine Opener - Sip...Savor...Cure!

CardioFlex is proud to support The Wine Opener – Sip…Savor…Cure benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This event takes place on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club in Boca Raton, FL.

When his son, Nicholas, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, Sal Capano became a dedicated and determined volunteer for the CF Foundation. He created the Care Today…Cure Tomorrow event and never missed an opportunity to educate the world about CF and recruit people to help in his quest to raise funds and find a cure for Nicholas and everyone else who battles the disease. Sal Capano passed away in 2007. In tribute, his wife Lauri and a group of Sal’s friends, affectionately known as “Sal’s Pals,” continued his “Care Today…Cure Tomorrow event in the Spirit of Sal Capano” to help raise funds for CF research.

Seven years ago, event chairs Lauri Capano, David Greenberg and Michael Rankin added a wine-tasting element to the dinner event and created what we know today as “The Wine Opener. Sip…Savor…Cure!” On October 20, 2017, in addition to enjoying rich cuisines, fine wines and the opportunity to dance the night away, event guests will be on hand to help us honor South Florida’s Finest Couples.
